Riverside County, CA – May 2nd, 2024 - The Wild West comes alive once again as RivCoParks announces the return of the 12th Annual Wild West Festival and Western Art Show, scheduled to take place on May 4th and 5th at the Gilman Historic Ranch and Wagon Museum in Banning, California. This two-day event promises to charm attendees with a rich blend of cowboy culture, live entertainment, and Western artistry.

Celebrating the spirit of the American frontier, the Wild West Festival and Western Art Show offers an immersive experience for visitors of all ages. This year’s annual event promises to transport attendees back in time with old west reenactments, stagecoach rides, ranch house tours, and western art. Additionally, visitors can enjoy the beer garden and food truck options. The festival’s annual Western Art Show highlights the talents of renowned artists from across the region, featuring a diverse range of artistic interpretations inspired by the Wild West, including oil paintings and intricate sculptures. Attendees will have the opportunity to view and purchase unique pieces that capture the essence of frontier life and the natural beauty of the American West.

“Riverside County’s vibrant legacy of the Wild West resonates with profound significance, embodying our rich cultural heritage and frontier spirit. Through dynamic event programming curated by our dedicated interpretive team, we pay homage to the pioneers whose resilience and ingenuity forged our region’s identity. By celebrating the iconic era, we not only honor our past but also nurture a lasting connection for future generations to cherish. Join us in embracing the spirit of the Wild West as we journey together through history, uniting the past with the present for a brighter tomorrow,” said Kyla Brown, Parks Director.

Riverside County’s Gilman Historic Ranch and Wagon Museum preserves, celebrates, and interprets the history of California, encompassing the pre-history of the Cahuilla Indians as well as the exploration and settlement of southern California and the San Gorgonio Pass during westward expansion. Home to the largest public collection of wagons, buggies and stagecoaches in the Inland Empire, this site is a must-see for locals and tourists alike.

“The Ranch Hands are the backbone of our Wild West Festival and Western Art Show.  Their hard work and dedication make it all possible,” said Bridget Lawlor, Historic Preservation Officer.

Tickets can be purchased at the festival for $5 per person or $10 per vehicle. Don't miss this chance to experience the excitement and allure of the Wild West - mark your calendars for May 4th-5th and join us for an unforgettable weekend at the Gilman Historic Ranch and Wagon Museum.
