It takes a lot of people to support the amazing places of scenic, recreational and historical importance throughout Riverside County. Over the years, members of the community have come together and developed local support groups dedicated to the preservation and future development of specific sites. The history and future of RivCoParks is brighter because of these amazing groups. Volunteers may opt to select supporting one of these parks groups, or may inquire directly for other opportunities.

The Riverside County Parks (RivCoParks) Foundation is a nonprofit that was founded in 2015 by a group of dedicated parks and recreation enthusiasts committed to supporting the mission, vision and values of the Riverside County Regional Park and Open-Space District.
The Foundation raises funds and recruits volunteers for important RivCoParks projects, such as playground cleanups, trail maintenance, and historic preservation. In addition, the Foundation works to educate and inspire the community on the importance of public land stewardship.
The three main areas of focus for RivCoParks Foundation are:
-
Promote health and recreation as a means of combatting the obesity epidemic in Riverside County.
-
Environmental education is supported by providing funding for local schools to visit RivCoParks nature centers and historical sites, and to provide scholarships for underprivileged youth to attend any camps and other environmental education workshops.
-
Protecting and caring for our shared public lands, including parks, nature centers, historic places, trails, and open spaces.
