Volunteer with RivCoParks!

Volunteers are essential to the success of RivCoParks! There are many rewarding volunteer opportunities at our RivCoParks locations. Enthusiastic individuals are needed at our parks, on the trails, and for other support functions. Volunteering is also great for students, and groups such as clubs, businesses, and organizations. Whether you seek to become a volunteer on a regular basis, occasionally, or just once, all volunteers ages 14 years or older are encouraged to apply!

It takes a lot of people to support the amazing places of scenic, recreational and historical importance throughout Riverside County. Over the years, members of the community have come together and developed local support groups dedicated to the preservation and future development of specific sites. The history and future of RivCoParks is brighter because of these amazing groups. Volunteers may opt to select supporting one of these parks groups, or may inquire directly for other opportunities.

Santa Rosa Plateau Nature Education Foundation

The Santa Rosa Plateau Nature Education Foundation's mission is to educate and empower youth to appreciate, preserve and protect nature. The Foundation believes that enduring nature education success depends on the active involvement of people and partners whose lives are linked to the natural systems we seek to educate our students about. They respect the needs, values and traditions of open space lands, local communities and cultures connected to these special places, and seek to forge relationships based on mutual benefit and trust.

The Riverside County Parks (RivCoParks) Foundation is a nonprofit that was founded in 2015 by a group of dedicated parks and recreation enthusiasts committed to supporting the mission, vision and values of the Riverside County Regional Park and Open-Space District.

The Foundation raises funds and recruits volunteers for important RivCoParks projects, such as playground cleanups, trail maintenance, and historic preservation. In addition, the Foundation works to educate and inspire the community on the importance of public land stewardship.

The three main areas of focus for RivCoParks Foundation are:

  1. Promote health and recreation as a means of combatting the obesity epidemic in Riverside County.

  2. Environmental education is supported by providing funding for local schools to visit RivCoParks nature centers and historical sites, and to provide scholarships for underprivileged youth to attend any camps and other environmental education workshops.

  3. Protecting and caring for our shared public lands, including parks, nature centers, historic places, trails, and open spaces.

You can make a secure donation to support the important work of the Riverside County Parks Foundation.
